3M Super 33+

A three-tape splice is the industry standard when a basic cable splice is required. 3M Super 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape is the last layer required to complete the task. Made with a Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) outer layer and pressure sensitive rubber based adhesive, the tape can provide a moisture free protection barrier for electrical and mechanical protection. Super 33+ can be used indoors and outdoors and is rated for all weather use. Super 33+ is UL listed (UL 510 standard “Insulating Tape”) and CSA certified (Standard C22.2 No 197-M1983 “PVC Insulating Tape”).

  • Primary electrical insulation for 600V and lower applications
  • All weather application
  • Application Temperature of -18°C to 38°C (0°F to 100°F)
  • Maximum operating temperature of 105°C (220°F)
Application
When completing a three-tape splice, the Super 33+ vinyl tape is the last layer to be applied. Starting from the outer edge of the splice, go around the cable with a 50% overlap until the entire spliced area is covered. If additional protection is required a second layer can be applied. 
Ordering Information
When ordering 3M Super 33+ tape, please indicate the number of rolls required to complete the task. Also, please keep in mind if you may require 3M Scothfil Putty or 3M 130C rubber tape to complete the splice.
